February sits in the heart of winter. The days are short, the temperatures are low, and bodies everywhere are feeling it. Stiff joints in the morning. Tight hips after long hours indoors. Muscles that want to move but feel glued in place. At Total Muscle Therapy, February is all about maintenance. Not just recovery after pain shows up, but staying ahead of it.

Winter Tightness Is Real
Cold weather naturally causes muscles to contract. Add in:
• Less outdoor movement
• More sitting
• Heavier training loads at the gym
• Lingering soreness from winter sports
And suddenly everything feels tighter than it should. Deep tissue and sports massage help counteract these seasonal changes by increasing circulation, restoring range of motion, and keeping muscle tissue adaptable instead of rigid.
Train Hard. Recover Smarter.
Many people stay active all winter. Strength training ramps up. Indoor sports stay competitive. Snow shoveling sneaks in as an unexpected workout. 🏋️♂️❄️ Without proper recovery, those demands stack up fast.
Sports massage helps by:
• Reducing muscle fatigue
• Improving flexibility and joint mobility
• Supporting faster recovery between workouts
• Addressing overuse before it turns into injury
Recovery is not a luxury. It’s part of training. February is the perfect reset. Think of February as a tune-up month. A chance to check in with your body before spring activities arrive. Address nagging tension now so you’re not carrying it into marathon season, outdoor sports, or increased training volume. Consistent massage can improve movement quality, reduce chronic tightness and help you train with better form and less strain.
Show Your Muscles Some Love
February is often associated with heart health and care for others. Don’t forget your muscles deserve attention too. ❤️ Whether you’re lifting, running, working long hours, or simply feeling the effects of winter stiffness, Total Muscle Therapy is here to help your body move better, recover faster, and perform stronger all season long.
**Stay consistent. Stay moving. Stay strong.
Business Spotlight
Every month I will highlight a trusted business from my website

I just got my hair done recently and a lot of people have been asking me where I go. My friend and client Alisha McGrath works over at Kelly & Co. in Sutton. She has been my hairdresser now for over a year. Once I moved to Central MA in 2020 I needed to find a new hairstylist and I did bop around to a few different ones but Alisha stood out. She cares about my hair health and wont over color, or bleach my hair just because I want a crazy color. She works with it over time to get it to where I want it to be the healthy way. She also gives me tips on how to get and keep my hair healthy. Here are some pics from the last time I went to see her.
Monthly Stretch
Shoulder & Chest Stretch

1. Stand tall and clasp arms behind your back.
2. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and lift arms away from your body.
3. To deepen the stretch, lean forward at the hips.
